Fall doesn’t officially kick off until the Equinox on September 23rd, but we’re already knee-deep in Virgo season. There’s a distinct “Back to School” buzz in the air, bringing a surge of fresh-start energy. Even as an empty nester, I can’t help but feel the potential for new beginnings all around us.

Welcome to that time of year when Mercury rules and everyone suddenly feels the urge to alphabetize their spice rack.

Don’t fight it – embrace the organized chaos!

Virgo season (8/23 – 9/22) is all about clearing clutter, finding efficiency, and resetting routines. As a Virgo myself 🙋🏽‍♀️, I’m loving this energy! There’s nothing like a perfectly organized to-do list… except maybe crossing everything off it.

Just remember, while this is a great time for fresh starts, try not to get too caught up in the pursuit of perfection. Even Virgos need to relax sometimes (though we might overthink the perfect way to do it).

Speaking of resets, I’d like to share 3 ways to energize your morning routine to bring your mind, body, and spirit in balance.

These simple practices can help you start your day on the right foot.

1. Freshly squeezed lemon juice 🍋 🍋🍋

Lemons are one of Earth’s healing foods; a powerful fruit with amazing antibiotic, antiseptic, and anti-cancer properties. Start your day with a tall glass of lemon water to cleanse and detoxify your entire body.

Lemons are a digestive bitter that can rev up your digestion and stimulate the production of enzymes to break down your food. Fresh lemon juice helps your body absorb all those precious vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients hiding in the foods you eat and the supplements you take.

It’s also a powerful mood booster and a natural way to cleanse and detoxify your liver.

2. Meditation

I talk a lot about the benefits of meditation because it works. Plus, it’s free and easy to learn. It doesn’t take long to master the magical effects, and it can offer relief like your usual feel-good activities.

You know that comforting sensation you experience when enjoying something you love?

Meditation can give you that natural “high” feeling and leave you craving more.

Here’s a simple practice to get you started:

Find a quiet place, turn off distractions, and get comfortable. Try it for just 5-10 minutes and see how you feel.

  • Take a deep breath or two.
  • Focus on the space underneath your nose where the air enters and leaves your body.
  • Let your thoughts flow without controlling them. If you lose focus, gently return your attention to your breath.

2. Stretch

You don’t need special yoga or Pilates poses – even easy basic stretches can make a huge difference to move your energy.

Here are some simple stretches to try:

  • Roll your neck around for half a minute in both directions.
  • Extend your arms to relieve tension in your sides.
  • Do a little side twist in both directions.

These simple movements help get your blood moving and your cells ready to absorb nutrients from your breakfast. They also stimulate the release of endorphins, the happy hormones, in your body.

By incorporating these practices into your morning routine, you’ll be setting yourself up for a balanced and energized day, perfect for channeling that Virgo energy into productivity and self-care!
