Full Moon Release: Free Yourself from the ‘Not Good Enough’ Voice

share

Tonight’s full moon in Virgo brings strong eclipse vibes — perfect for letting go of old emotions. It’s time to release those stubborn feelings that aren’t helping you, especially that annoying inner critic. That voice that tells you you’re not good enough when you need self-compassion.

The Energy of Dismissal

Have you ever felt that uncomfortable sensation of being dismissed? That moment when you share something that feels true and right for you, only to have someone close discount or ignore it entirely? This experience can trigger an old wound of not being seen or heard — what I like to call the “sit down and shut up” energy.

I use this abrasive phrase intentionally, not to offend but to name the raw, unfiltered emotion that lies beneath these experiences. Sometimes, we need to call out our wounds with the same intensity they carry within us. The anger in these words mirrors the anger in the wound itself, which deserves acknowledgment before it can heal.

Without uncovering these feelings with complete honesty — yes, even the harsh, uncomfortable parts — they remain buried where they continue to poison us from within.

The full moon illuminates what we might prefer to keep hidden, inviting us to shine light on these shadowed emotions.

I’ve been feeling this vibration collectively among us, especially with the recent anniversary of COVID, which has been stirring up memories of when many felt silenced or unheard.

When we’re not seen or heard and are expected to keep quiet and listen, it creates a profound sense of confinement. It feels claustrophobic, hopeless, and lonely. The connection is broken; understanding is lost. We feel censored and constrained.

The Shadow of Projection

If we’re not mindful of this energy — if these wounds remain unhealed — we risk projecting that same dismissive behavior onto others. The anger that wasn’t appropriately expressed when we were silenced finds indirect paths of expression, often hurting the people around us and perpetuating cycles of dismissal.

Sometimes, we direct it towards those who silenced us as retaliation or to prove they can’t control us. “I’ll show you,” we think, unconsciously fueling the very energy that hurt us.

The Deeper Wound

The underlying emotional pain often translates to: “I don’t matter.” When dismissed by someone close, a voice inside whispers, “I’m not taken seriously. What I say doesn’t matter because I don’t matter.”

This feeling settles deep in the body. The anger protects this vulnerable truth. Instead of allowing this emotion to define us, we can acknowledge that, yes, someone once made us feel this way, but we don’t have to carry it any longer.

A Full Moon Release Practice

Take a moment tonight under the full moon to:

Breathe deeply and feel where this “I don’t matter” energy sits in your body. Welcome any anger or frustration that emerges — it’s been your shield all this time.

Challenge it: “But this feeling isn’t true about me. This isn’t my truth.”

Release it: Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, visualize that old negative energy leaving your body and energy field.

Return to self-love for yourself and others: “I do matter. My voice is important. I love myself.”

We don’t need external validation. Each of us is whole within ourselves.

You are worthy and you matter, regardless of whether others dismiss or discount what you have to say. And tonight’s gorgeous moon is the perfect opportunity to release and connect with yourself.

Thanks for reading.

Love + Wellness to you!
